i just got a new tattoo and i need some tips for taking car of it?
Answer:
At least twice a day for 3-4 days
Wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching the tattoo
Use a mild unscented soap like ivory to gently wash tattoo, air dry
Use a SMALL amount of ointment (tattoo goo, burt's bees rescue balm, aquaphor) and rub into tattoo.
After the first 3-4 days
Wash your hands first, wash tattoo
Use a small amount of unscented, dye free lotion (lubriderm, eucerin, aveno) and rub it into tattoo.
If the tattoo will come into contact with unsanitary things it would be wise to use a non-stick, breathable bandage like a tefla pad over the area during exposure.
Do not use alcohol, neosporin or other triple anitibiotics, hydrogen peroxide, and antibacterial soaps on tattoo
Don’t 'dry heal' the tattoo
Don’t pick at tattoo or scratch it
Stay out of the sun and water for 3-6 weeks while tattoo is healing. It is ok to wash your tattoo, but NEVER soak it. Always remember to use SMALL amounts of ointment and lotion. You do not want the tattoo to become waterlogged.
After healing make sure to use a high spf sunblock to prevent fading

use A&D, aquaphor, or zinc oxide 0.5 creams They are all beside each other at the drug store, for the first 2 weeks let the tatoo air (dont keep it covered with plastic or tight clothing). after a few weeks just keep it moist with lotion and do not pick at the scab!
