I just got my eyebrow pierced the other day and my piercer told me that I should wash the area with salty water two times a day etc etc. and I was just wondering how strictly do I have to follow this?

I mean, do I really have to make a solution and go through all the procedures of cleaning the area 2 times or day? Or could I get away with once a day? once each few days? Would my daily shower suffice as long as I'm not touching the area?

I'm just wondering because I have had my ear pierced (twice) and neither time have I ever used antiseptic or any solution on my ears to prevent infection, I simply didn't play with it and let it heal (Didn't spin it, didn't play with it or touch it). Never had a problem. Even if I don't touch my piercing/surrounding area, what are the chances of infection if I don't clean it? Let me know what you think.

Answer:
I'll be honest and say that I do follow the LITHA (Leave it the hell alone) method of aftercare….but I've also had over 20 piercings and have healed most of them that way.

But if you don't have a lot of piercings and know how your body heals, I'd stick to doing the sea salt soaks twice a day. It's really not that much of a hassle. But make sure it's non-iodized sea salt, and not regular salt. You can also use saline solution but the downside is that it's not warm like the sea salt soaks.

There's always a chance of infection with piercings.

Answer:
why would you want to take the chance of an infection all for the sake of washing you use salty water for a reason, to disinfect it and keep it free of germs im sure you’ll wish you had listened when youre walking round with septic puss dripping off youre face any disfigurement to youre face will shape youre the rest of youre life

Answer:
Personally, I think you should clean it twice a day like your piercer stated you should. You can clean it while you're in the shower.
