That’s what my tattooist stated.
Answer: I typically use A & D for around 5 days if it's just the outline. If it's a lot of shading I'll use it for about a week since you're skin gets pretty overworked (at least with larger pieces). As long as you aren't overdoing it and just putting a thin layer on, you can use it for as long as you see fit. As a general rule I usually switch to lotion once the tat is no longer tender to the touch. Good luck!
Answer: That's fine. I use stuff like A&D when my tattoos scab up. So I would state that you should use A&D for as long as your tattoo has scabs. Then when all the scabs have fallen off, begin using lotion.
Most people's tattoos scab, and it's good to keep them moisturized, but not too much.
All my tattoos get dry and start to Peel like a sunburn after the scabs come off, so that's when I use lotion. I just use cocoa butter lotion, but I don't think it mattes what kind.
Oh and be careful not to pick or take off the scabs, because it really does cause fading and then you'll need a touch up. It is temping to do this, but it really is good to let them fall off by themselves.
Answer: 3 days is plenty, then switch to lotion. i'm in the process of gettng my back tattooed. i've had 3 sessions now. each time i didn't use ointment or lotion because i can't reach the area. i healed out just fine. it was just a bit more itchy due to some dryness but the color, etc. was perfect.
Answer: I just use the Equate tripple antibiotic ointment for several days, then switch to Lubriderm for about a week or a little over.Never use polyor neosporin. They sting and fade ink terribly.
Answer: If that is what your artist said, follow his or her advice.
However, I found A&D ointment made my tattoo ink bleed. I usually use Polysporin Cream.
Answer: then do what your tatooist stated!
