I’m like so pale and I’m trying to get a base tan before I go to florida because last year when I was in Florida I was half white half tan and I got so burned that I couldn't walk. So my question is, what are some good fast ways to get tan besides going to a tanning place because my parents will not let me. And also if you wear sun screen can you still get tan?

Answer:
Ok. So I'm like a tanning expert because I do it all the time….in the natural sunlight.

So, Begin working your base tan by laying outside. You need to learn your burn limit. This is how long you can be out in the sun before you begin to burn.

So, First i would lay out in the sun for 10 minutes, and put some tanning oil on. (I use Hawaiian tropic dark tan lotion with no SPF) without any sun tan lotion. Go back inside for 5 minutes, then look at yourself in the mirror and see if you're burnt. (if you want to be extra careful just stay out for 5 mins then do this) Push on your skin to see if you’ve a white mark in the shape of your finger print - this shows that you’ve started to tan.

The idea is to get your skin to a point where you can push it, see that white finger mark, but not be red.

So, lay outside more without any sunscreen, checking yourself inside to see if you are starting to get red. If you’re, apply a SPF 20, then lay outside for like a half hour. Check yourself for burns.

Do this for like 3 days - after the end of each sitting, you should see that you've gotten a little bit darker on your shorts/bikini line.

After you start to get more dark, you should be able to go longer without any sun lotion, but you should always do this and then put some on when you think you reached the point where you’ll start to burn. Always use a tanning oil, even with SPF. And I'd try to work your way down to 15, 10, then 5 because you won't tan as swiftly if you’ve high SPF on.

I used to be kindof white also… but I feel as though the more I tan, the faster it will come back when it fades. My skin also holds it's tans for a veryyy long time. (i still had a tan line in january, loll) But i went to vegas last august and it was sooooo hot and clear out that all we did was go to the pool during the day (because the MGM grand has realllly nice pools…one is a lazy river.) so i got the tannest that i've ever been in my life. Now it comes back so fast when ever i lay outside for an hour.

Answer:
Tanning Beds won’t prevent you from getting burned, because they use a different ray to tan you than the sun does. (did a research paper on it)

Use Sunscreen with a lower number (10 or 15) and reapply frequently, but be careful, this can cause you to burn too. Just spend lots of time out in the sun, but be sure to protect your skin, even a slight tan is still skin damage!

Also, a spray-tan will not give you a base tan either, because it jst paints your skin, it doesnt actaully tan you.

Answer:
depending what the spf of the sunscreen is and how long you are out in the sun, but yes, you can still get a tan
even though a tan isn't very good for your skin, I advocate you walk outside more in the sun.
excercise or something, and be sure to do it so that your back is facing the sun as much as your front

Answer:
Well tanning is not good for your body ate all. When you tann the your body (skin) is telling you that there is a problem. It can also lead to skin cancer.

If that didn't change your mind. Some people that try to tann (like getting sun) don't get tann they just burn(they don't get darker, there skin gets red).So just don't try to tann at all, be yourself, im sure that’s ganna be cool:)

Answer:
I suggest Jergen's natural glow, do it for a week and don't forget to exfoliate! ^_^ I also advocate a gel bronzer for the face (I find Jergen's' face lotion to be pointless for me because my face wash takes it off, and it's oily :P )

Yes, you can still get tan with sunscreen ^.^

Answer:
Yes, you should always wear sun screen. You can still get a tan even when you're wearing it.

You could use some self-tanning lotion that might give you a bit of a glow..or you could lay out in the sun at your house for 10-15 a day until you go to FL

Answer:
you can still get a tan from using sun screen, depends on the SPF but dont use too much or it'll make you even more whiter!
well just lay outside for about 4 hours with some music or a phone or somthing, I tan with my cat =D she lays right beside me ><
but if you burn easily put some suncreen on, but not that much and make sure the SPF is like 15 or 20 or 25 either one is fine
