Ok so last night it was fine, it wasn't infected, I've had the piercing for about 10 weeks and it hasn't been infected yet, but it is now. I'm really mad at myself for getting the piercing because I had like a perfect belly button before and now it's all disformed. I think it got infected because last night I was tossing and turning so much, which I never do, and it kept rubbing against the mattress. So it hurts super bad, on a scale of 1-10 probly a 6 or 7. It's swollen, and kind of shut up my belly button, has a bunch of clear discharge coming out, and it won't move. Don't worry I know not to force it if it doesn't move. I can't find a picture of what my belly button used to look like, but it was like what a bikini model's would look like, if that helps lol. I don't have any photos, sorry I wish I did to put on here, but it hurts really bad, probably an 8 actually now. How do I heal it or for now at least ease the pain. And it stayed in the same place it hasn't migrated.
Answer: boil some water, put about two teaspoons on sea salt in a mug and pour boiled water over it. Wait until it's warm and then take cotton pad and soak your belly button with it.Do this 3x a day for 15-20 minutes.
I promise it will help.Sea salt is really good for infections, help wounds to heal superior, clears your skin from Acne…it does a whole bunch of things:)
Answer: If you’re able to tolerate something like Ibuprofen take that for the inflammation and pain. In order to help the piercing heal appropriately you must get rid of any infection. To do that use a easy antibacterial soap, like Dial or something comparable, two or three times a day. If the infection does not begin to clear up within a few days, I suggest you go see your doctor.
Answer: This is the same problem my older sister had when she got her belly button pierced, she used to bathe it in salt water (not too strong but be quite generous). It healed up within 2 weeks. Give it a try. Also put a plaster on it at night to halt it rubbing against your bed.
Answer: i have had similar problems with piercings.go to the doctor, something like that happened to me and i got septicemia.
Answer: It might not be infected, just irritated from the contact with the mattress. Wash it with soap and water and try turning it. Just keep it clean.
Answer: neosporin
Answer: Do the salt water thing that someone posted this will help you for sure. ALSO WEAR LOOSE FITTING CLOTHES
Answer: take it out and clean it with neosporin don't worry you will be able to put more jewelry in it my mother has her belly button priced and she don't hardly keep hers in
Answer: Ice & ibroprofen
It doesn't sound like its infected, if it was it would have icky green pus. Clear stuff is just lymph and a good thing. It sounds like you just bashed it pretty hard in your sleep and its swollen and a bit angry. The lymph will go crusty, so just soak that off with those sea salt soaks or plain warm water.
Warm sea salt/saline soaks twice a day. 1/8 - 1/4 tsp sea salt for a cup of warm water. Too much salt is bad, as is cleaning it too often. And most importantly don't fiddle or touch it.
If it gets worse and properly infected, go to the doctor and ger some antibiotics. But DON'T take it out, it'll trap the infection inside, causing lots more problems.
I'm sure it will get superior
Having the original bar in is probably a good thing. at least you're sure of the quality of metal then. Don't take it out to clean it. It'll be fine with just a soak. The warmness of the water will draw out all the lymph from inside anyway
Answer: no its not its just irritatted mine did the same thing
ok take out the barbell
and soak it with sea salt and warm water
then clean it with dial antibacterial soap
and the take a q-tip and clean the piercing area
and the inside where your belly button is
and then put a clean regular barbell in there
(not 1 with heavy jewelry on it and deffintly not a hanging 1)
Answer: Purchase a shotglass and fill it with warm water and epsom salt. Lay down on your bed and sit there with the shotglass up against your bellybutton. pore on hydrogen peroxide(use the shotglass), and it might fizzle up a tiny but its only because its cleaning. Go to a jewelery store and find products that clean your belly button and your belly button ring. Take out your bellly button ring and put in neosporin once its not infected anymore to ensure cleanness.
good luck(:
Answer: First of all you need to get some peroxide or the bandaid brand of spray that kills germs. The bandaid brand also has some pain killers in it so it will make it feel better. The next thing you need to do is soak your belly button and the jewelry and then try and twist and turn it so that the medicine gets inside the hole. It may hurt some but you do not want your skin to attach itself to the ring. Keep applying the medicine and keep turning it. If it doesn't get any better then you really need to take it out and wait for it to heal before you get a serious infection like staph - that's really hazardous. If you take it out for just a day or so you can easily go back to the person that pierced it for you and they’ll put it back in for you most likely at no charge.
Hope you get superior. I never really had any problems with mind but there have been times when it got sore because my pants rubbed against it or I got it caught on something.
Answer: Do NOT take the jewellry out. Doing this before it is healed can trap infections under the skin. It doesn't sound care about it is infected though. I would recommend taking some painkillers, and holding ice (a bag of peas wrapped in a tea towel works wonders) to your piercing to reduce the swelling. To clean do a sea salt soak twice a day. Dial might be too harsh and irritating it further.
Answer: Samething happened to my sister.
Go to the pharmacy, ask them for a thing called HYDROGEN PEROXIDE.
This will essentially burn away any crap that’s making your infections any worse, clean it and help it to heal.
Just add a few drops to a few drops of water, take a cotton bud and then dip it in the peroxide water and then dab it all around your piercing. It will fizz like mad but don't worry, this is it just burning away the dead crap and pus etc… it won't injured you at all.
Do this 3 times a day until it has cleared up and you and your piercing will be fine trust me.
Good luck…
Answer: That happened to me a few weeks after I got my belly pierced!
Don't mess with it, I ended up on antibiotics, so if it doesn't get any superior over the next couple of days, you'll be ideal off seeing a doctor!
I advocate boiling some water and dissolving sea salt in it, then allowing it to cool to a hot but bearable temperature. Pour the solution into a shot glass and hold it over your belly button and swish it around so it gets right into the piercing. Do this several times a day as saline solution (salt & water) promotes healing.
Wash with an antibacterial soap in the shower too but make sure to dry the area thoroughly after showering and after the saline soak as water harbours bacteria.
Don't wear any clothing that will irritate it any further.
Continually wipe away any discharge but don't move the piercing if it seems stuck.
For the pain now, take 2 panadol (aspirin) and lie down flat as bending could injured it further.
Ideal of luck, I feel your pain!
Answer: First thing, take out the ring. Dont worry, it will go back in. Take paracetamol or co-codomol for the relieving of pain. Boil water and dissolve salt and some lime or lemon into it, then rub it on the swelling. The pus will continue to come out, and it is its colour because it has some old blood in it. Clean it out and press down to get as much as possible out. Lie on your back tonight and try not to move much ;). It may sting a bit but still press. Take care!!(and thanks for answering mine).
Answer: I concur with what some are saying.. It might not be an infection just irritated due to the constant rubbing but if pain persists, then try taking danzen, oral meds..It usually helps with swelling… wash the area with warm water, and clean up the fluid… But best is just to go to the physician and he'll be the best one to tell you wat to do….
=)
