my boyfriend got a tattoo recently, and he said that the tattoo artists at the place he went told him that the areas with less tissue beneath them (such as on top of your feet) hurt less than areas that have more tissue, such as your stomach, etc. i've always heard the opposite, that the fattier places injured less because there's more cushioning underneath it…so who is right?

Answer:
Everywhere on you body has the same thickness of skin, it is just stretched thiner over some parts of the body. It dose seem to injured more over the bone, but sometimes it's the opposite What it really depends on is where there are more nerves. example: When i got my leg tattooed it hurt more towards the back muscular/fatty area it did towards the font neer the bone.

Answer:
Yep I just got my tattoo done like 3 hours ago, my tattoo went from my hip bone and my ribs on my left side. It does hurt when you are getting the tattoo done around areas that are close to any bones. The top and bottom of my tattoo is were it actually hurt, other than that everything else was fine.

Answer:
bone hurts more. ive gotten tattoos in both fleshy and boney parts of my body, and holy crap does bone injured. and some of mine are right up by my collar bones too, the whole time they were getting done my vision was being vibrated because of how close the tattoo gone was to my head. so i had pain, AND blurry vision. it rocked.

Answer:
the bonier the area the more it hurts! i've have tattoos on all different body parts, but nothing compares to the pain of the ribs and feet.
but then again some area's that are not boney, such as the armpit, or painful as well..
