I got my nose pierced a week and a half ago, with a needle. It all went really well and I have been soaking my nose with hot salt water twice a day for 10 minutes. It is still pretty red and even though isn’t that painful, it looks pretty sore and people keep mentioning it. Is there any way I have the ability to bring down the redness?
I'm also desperate to avoid infection, so I have purchased some Savlon Spray, which claims fights infection and promote healing. I know the best way to avoid infection is to not touch my piercing, but I want to be on the safe side. What do other people make of Savlon antiseptic spray?
Any other tips for healing and getting rid of the redness would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Answer: You’ve done everything right so far and keep doing what your doing.
My nose was sore a while after i got it done, this is because your nose muscles are always moving with breathing, sneezes, coughs etc. As your nose heals you will notice the difference in the redness and irritation it might cause you. Savlon spray is good however warm salt water is the ideal and cheapest. I’ve used it for all my piercings apart from my tounge and lip as its a yucky taste!
hope this helps

Answer: The first time I got my nose pierced it went well but I kept touching it and cleaning it so it was red and hurt just a tad… Second time I didn't play with it for two weeks and its fine! Wash you hands, sanitize before touching it and everything should be okay! Don't twist it a lot for the first two weeks. Good luck =]
Answer: hiya, i've had mine done for about 18 years. I don't remember it being red for long but everyone's different. If you've got gunky stuff or it's very painful then it's infected, but if it's just a little bit red then you'll be fine. It sounds like you're doing all the right things.
I used hydrogen peroxide and salt water!
Answer: this is what i do with my nose piercing, i had it over 8 weeks, but i still clean it daily(: ok, so wash your hands thoroughly with soap and warm water. next, but some bactine on a q-tip, and rub the q-tip around you piercing. my piercer told me to do this at least five times a day. and your right, DONT TOUCH IT! good luck and have fun(:
Answer: Chloe,I’ve had mine done for nine years now and what I used was some Dial antibacterial soap on mine at least a couple of times a day with warm water and a wash cloth, make sure that you always wear high quality jewelry all the time,Tomb Raider.
Answer: Just make sure you wash your hands with antibacterial soap before touching, handling,or cleaning the pierced skin.
Answer: Just look after them as ideal as you can. - You've done your ideal!
Answer: Yeah, dont do it!! Ouch!
Answer: i had a nose piercing and i LOVED it! it was the cutest thing i ever did… unfortunatly it didnt last long…i kept ripping it out in my sleep when i tossed and turned and eventually formed a keloid..eww look it up online and see for yourself, i ended up having to take it out and everything went back to normal, but don’t ignore that redness…my keloid looked enjoy it was just irritated for a while until it turned pimple looking (which couldnt be poppped) and i had to embarrasingly see a doctor… good luck..
Answer: i recently got my nose pierced as well, by a needle just like you. the girl who pierced my nose has facial piercings as well, and told my friend and i that nose piercings to dont swell, and they also heal in about a week. i got mine done about a month ago now, and it healed in less than a week and it's rarely in pain.
it might be infected. the fact that doing all that stuff to your nose might be causing you pain too! id advocate taking it out and letting it heal, the hole takes only a week or two to shut, and about a month to heal all the way.. then get it redone.
