Each time I shave myself, I end up with these rashes on my face. No, I'm not shaving too rough or against the grain. I wash my face, even use a shaving brush, apply plenty of shaving gel, and then shave so gently that anymore gently wouldn't shave anything off.

What should I do? Would electric razors work? And do you’ve to buy gel to use them with, change blades regularly on it or anything like that?

Please help on this, as these shaving rashes are getting on my nerves to be quite honest!!!

Answer:
The ideal way for very sensitive skin I have found is to use an exfoliating wash(I use St Ives blemish removing formular).

This gets rid of the dead skin cells on your face and softens the hairs at the same time..

Then to soften the hair and skin use hot water on your face(as hot as you can stand).

Next use shaving oil massaged on my face(no soap or gel as this will make your skin dry after..and the soap usually removes a lot of the oil anyway).

Shave with the direction of the hair to avoid ingrowing hairs.(use the best quality blades preferably with 3 or more blades on the cartridge and change every couple of shaves).

Then close the skin pores by splashing the face with cold water.

Dont use aftershave(again this dries the skin).

I use a moisturiser with vitamin E in it.

If u dont mind asking what race are you, i am blended white and black and i suffer from a type of rash which is many bumps on my neck.

IF THIS IS YOUR TYPE OF RASH AVOID ELECTRIC SHAVERS AS THEY MAKE IT WORSE!

Your best bet is getting a shave gel sensitive boots botanics do one with marshmellow in and this is very good. It doesn't foam and helps the razor glide.

If you are prepared to have stubble invest in one of the little battery powered hair (for the head) shapers kinda look like this:

_____

___

___

___

___

___

___

““““`

This will remove the hair without getting the root and never leave a rash.

Hope this helps and i hope this is the ideal answer!

Peace!

If you’ve just started shaving your face will take a bit of time to get used of it. Also save slowly, Im not joking, take your time, if you rush you’ll end up with a rash or cuts.

Its good that you use a brush, use real hot water. Dont use that stuff you get in a can, gel is Ok but I advocate you get the soap that goes with the brush, (Mugs is what I use)

Next make sure your razors are sharp. I used to use a straight razor but I could not keep it sharp enough. Use a safety razor and use a new one when it starts to pull when you shave.

Are you allergic to anything? Sometimes the perfume they use can be an irritant. Aftershave is to kill bacteria that could cause a rash, basically its alcohol,

Hope this helps
