Getting a tattoo on the inside of my hip?
Nov 20, 2008
I'm getting a tattoo in a months time, and although I'm sure of the design I want, I'm not sure where to have it drawn.
I was thinking of getting it done on the inside of my hip. It'll be a relatively small tattoo - no larger than about 5cm squared.
The only thing I'm worried about is the tattoo stretching when I get pregnant. Obviously the tattoo will be quite small and low down, but I'm still undecided!
Has anyone else had a tattoo in that region? Anyone had a tattoo stretch when they were pregnant? Does it ruin the tattoo?
Any information greatly appreciated.

Answer: It's really hard to tell whether it'll stretch or not, everyone's body will change in pregnancy but it's impossible to tell if the tattoo will be affected but I'd say it's got a good chance of stretching in that area.
I'd just suggest getting your design somewhere that is really unlikely to change with pregnancy or age or even with weight changes. Your ankle or foot is a good place since it's very unlikely to be affected.
Good luck!
Answer: I’ve a tattoo on the top of my boob of winnie the pooh (silly 15 year old thing, now 24 and absolutely regret it) obviously my boobs grew with pregnancy and just growing as i was still a teen! It now looks like a very tall skinny pooh bear! ewwww! its awful
Answer: Your skin will stretch out and when you get back to your body after the baby the tattoo will look different. I would reconsider where you get it.
Answer: Yes it might well change after pregnancy. You might want to rethink where you have it done.
