I got two lip piercings a few months ago and the person that put them in did them up so tight that I can't get them out. I've tried unscrewing them a few times but every time I do it feels like I'm causing damage.

Answer:
It depends on if you want to get new jewelry for your piercing or if you decided it was the wrong idea to get them pierced in the first place. Your piercer should have given you the rings or barrettes that would allow space for the inevitable swelling that’ll occur. Hopefully they're totally healed, no pus, or swelling at this time. If you don't feel like going back to the place you had them pierced, I recommend you get some latex gloves or anything fabric that has a real grip on it. Then wrap that around the ball of the ring and on the other side. get some pliers on both sides (may need a friend to help you) and unscrew, righty tighty lefty loosey. That's how I got my ring out.

And by the way, if you're a guy I highly suggest not getting a lip ring as it will scar up nastily when you take it out and makes you look like you have a permanent cold sore on your lip. Not good when you realize you need a real job and people aren't looking at your face and just your lip. On the other hand girls can cover it up with makeup… Hope this helps.

Answer:
make sure theyre completely healed first. keep using the stuff youre cleaning it with. if its infected dont take them out.

clean them and the area first. so its wet and slides out easy. then unscrew the ball gently and gently pull them out, clean it again once its out, then change the jewelry (you might want to clean the new jewelry first)

same thing happened with my belly button, it was screwed really tight and couldnt get it out for a while, this is what i did and it was fine.

make sure to wait 8 or more weeks before you take it out to prevent closing up or infection.

EDIT: also, if youre not using an anti-septic cleaner for it try h2ocean. its for piercings and is purified salt water, it cleared up an infection i started to get a month ago.

also, why the thumbs down? this is how i got mine out it was fine..

if you wanna take it out and close up the hole, do the same thing i stated as above and keep cleaning it, until it closes up. make sure you dont have an infection first, you should never close a hole during an infection, the infection will get stuck in there and will get worse
