rainbeau, sorry about your dry skin, all I have the ability to do is advocate what I use and has given me positive results. I advocate, Preve extreme anti aging by Isabella Pelle. It's made specifically for fine lines/wrinkles. It has the highest concentration of “peptides” active ingredients to fight them. Also has the highest concentration of the ideal known moisturizer, hyaluronic acid. This has kept my skin baby smooth.
Last month they came out with a more concentrated version of Preve called Cura. It's everything Preve except they concentrated it to extreme. I got it 2 weeks ago; it's excellent. What you need to do is decide which one is ideal for you. I advocate both.
Also you didn't say, but if you don't you should begin now, of drinking at least min. of 3 glasses of water daily to keep your skin hydrated.

I, myself also have very very dry skin. Fortunately my face isn’t affected. Have tried all types of moisturizer over the selves. Nothing works. Even the most expensive ones. Then I discovered a sure cure on one of my overseas trips. I was in the plane. Forgot my moisturizer. Couldn’t stand the dry air in the plane. Had just completed a meal. Then I noticed the unfinished butter. I apply this on both my arms. At first, it might look greasy. After it is being absorbed, slightly less than 5 minutes, the skin looks and feels good. And very moisturized. It's a stay on and give a light glow the whole day. I've since use this moisturizer. Of course, I use the UNSALTED BUTTER instead.

here’s a great remedy for dry skin

Add a few drops of lemon juice to 1/2 an avocado, and mash. Apply to clean skin and allow to remain for 20 minutes. Then remove with some tissue, and splash the skin with cold, then warm, water.

i also have keratosis pilaris, the lil bumps on your arms, etc. but i used urea & it works great. i wouldnt recommend shea butter though.
